Pluto in House Four

In order to understand these placements, the entire chart must be analyzed. These generic definitions are only the tip of the iceberg in the larger script of your life.

Pluto in the Fourth House:
The need to be empowered at home.

The Fourth House is all about Home, Roots, Genealogy, Blood Lines and Foundations.
This is where we come to feel safe and take pride. Since House three and four fall on the Imum Coeli (the IC) angle of the chart, everything in this house will feel very personal as it should.
Home is where the heart is and anything that threatens our fourth house issues will feel intensely personal. Now, imagine having Pluto here!

From a karmic perspective, we can see that Pluto in Fourth House speaks of times gone by where a soul was persecuted and lost their home and family.  This placement is often found among souls whose past lives centered around slavery, imprisonment against their will, kidnappings, stock market crashes such as the 1920s Depression, or any other social injustice that caused the soul to lose what it held most dear- family and home. In this life, the soul's karmic mission will center around making the home a safe and loving environment and be empowered by it.

Johann Sebastian Bach, for example, had 20 children from one woman. Not only was he empowered by his role in the home but his blood line (which the fourth house also rules) was particularly important since his descendants will be numerous. He also composed most of his works from the home.
The Fourth House will not only see you as a prominent member of your home but it also applies to people who work from home.

The Fourth House also speaks of ancestral karma around blood lines. Releasing karma associated with blood lines and generations.
Louis XVI, King of France, who never left Versailles until the French Revolution seized him in 1792 and executed him in 1793 also had Pluto in The Fourth House. He was to be the last King of France so his bloodline has several meanings here. Not only did he come from a bloodline of kings but the dynasty of Versailles ended with him.

Sometimes Astrology is extremely literal.  When we think of Pluto (ruthless power) in The House of Family, we take it literally as in the case of mobster Lucky Luciano. In this case, family has to do with the Sicilian Mafia and Pluto's ruthless power is often associated with gangsters and mobsters.

Brilliant writer, James Joyce centered most of his works around his Irish lineage: "The Dubliners", "Finnegan's Wake".

Pluto in Fourth House also has to do with people who live in exile as is the case of Chilean poet, Pablo Neruda. His political beliefs caused him to be exiled from his native land.

Che Guevara, the key figure in the Cuban Revolution also had Pluto in Fourth House.

Pluto in the Fourth House can also be found among land owners, real estate agents, people who make a living "flipping house". Think of Bravo's hit series "Million Dollar Listing".

Also anyone whose interest is to connect with ancestors and roots in general. Think of anyone feeling empowered by "clicking on a leaf" in a popular genealogy software and discovering their great grandfather. The key is be empowered by ancestral roots.

Sometimes, the soul accrues negative karma and misses the boat on the opportunity of Pluto in Fourth House.
Pluto in Fourth House can also represent someone who is abusive in the home or abuses his/her power in that environment.  Charles Manson (who embodied the father figure to the Manson Family, in his quasi-commune. He fathered numerous children with his followers) and Russian dictator, Joseph Stalin also have Pluto in the Fourth House.

Since this house is extremely personal, the public may or may not be aware of the karmic lessons around this type of empowerment. Certainly we will always find a long list of celebrities with just about any Pluto placement but since the Fourth House is so personal, the people who typify it the most might not be famous :-D

The following celebrities also have Pluto in Fourth House:

Wolfang Amadeus Mozart, Victor Hugo, Sandra Bullock, Selena Gomez, Chris Brown, Pamela Anderson, James Dean, Liv Tyler, Ricky Martin, Elizabeth Hurley.
