Pluto in House Five

In order to understand these placements, the entire chart must be analyzed. These generic definitions are only the tip of the iceberg in the larger script of your life.

Pluto in the Fifth House:
The need to be creatively empowered

The Fifth House is one my favorite houses!  Here we find everything that has to do with creativity and the creative process. Children, Arts and Crafts and Romance! What's there not to like??

Pluto here always presents a challenge. Bringing Pluto's intense regenerative energy in a house that always feels "light" is a challenge. Period.
The only way to truly use your Pluto in Fifth House is to feel empowered by being a creative. This includes being a parent.
Pluto in Fifth House can be found among souls who never got a chance to enjoy anything in past lives. Lives centered around duty, heavy karma to be worked through, work, too many children or none, little time for hobbies or stifled creativity gets another chance with Pluto in Fifth House.

Let's break them all down since the Fifth House is loaded with possibilities.
Children
Here we see people who are either empowered by having children or working with them ( teachers, pre-school programs). Also children story writers or any creative process with children as recipients.

J.K. Rowling, the creator of the "Harry Potter" series has Pluto in Fifth House. She is an outstanding example of this Pluto placement.

Founding Father, Benjamin Franklin, is rumored to have had countless illegitimate children.

This is also a position of power around children such as Headmasters or DSS for example.

The Fifth House is also about the child within and innocence found in adults who connect with that energy and feel extremely empowered. And the flip side of this would be a "Peter Pan" syndrome, I don't want to grow up.

Creativity

Since this is the house of creativity, the celebrity list goes on and on. Here is a small sample:

Lady Gaga, John Lennon, Mariah Carey, Audrey Hepburn, Robert Redford, Halle Berry, Drew Barrymore, Coco Chanel, Billie Holiday, Johnny Cash, Edgar Allen Poe, Barbra Streisand, Ringo Starr.

This can also apply to someone who works in the creative field but can be quite ruthless or a nightmare to work for or with. Not uncommon.

Next we move to the Romance aspect of this house.

In Astrology, there is a misconception to equate the seventh house with the significant other since it is the house of marriage and legal partnerships.  Most feel that soulmates will show up in the seventh house... however, nothing could be further from the truth.

The fifth house rules Love and Romance.  You do not always marry who you are madly in love with nor does a marriage prevent your from falling in love with someone else (as the staggering number of divorces proves).
In this day in age, most people choose not to marry at all but are still madly in love with their partners. As astrologers, we must always look to fifth house contacts if we are to find the one who makes your heart soar. A Pluto/Venus contact in the fifth house, for example, would exemplify the type of romance you will never forget for the rest of your life.

If you have Pluto in your Fifth House (or Venus) be ready to have the love affair of the century at some point of your life. All that is waiting is for the right person's Venus (or Pluto if natal Venus is in fifth) to make a contact to that dormant planet in the house of Love and Romance...and fireworks will spark. Your life will never be the same.

This of course, applies to ALL houses, but in the fifth this is exalted since this type of love affair could produce children or bring out those urges in people who never expressed any interest in procreating. So watch out for someone's Venus contacting your Pluto in Fifth house, they will rock your world.

I will have a whole series on the Venus/Pluto synastry and composite aspects so please stay tuned. That's where Astrology gets real fun and steamy!

Games
The Fifth House also rules games of any kind and fun-hearted activities. Of course, to Pluto mind games are always fun, but this is not the energy of the fifth house. Here we find gamers of all types. Videogames, monopoly, chutes and ladders, role-playing games, cosplay, games and bedroom toys and all other fun stuff.

Crafts and Hobbies
With Pluto in the house of crafts and hobbies, we see artisans who can make a living off their crafts and hobbies. The website www.Etsy.com would be a Fifth House influence- The handmade movement. If you are a creative with Pluto in Fifth House, consider opening a small online store to sell your crafts. Millions do and make a living doing it... so why not you?
